Child care providers in Wisconsin must also have training in the following:

• Sudden Infant Death Syndrome Risk Reduction Practices (SBS)
• Shaken Baby Syndrome Prevention (SIDS)

The department-required training for both courses listed above is included in the Introduction to the Child Care Profession and Fundamentals of Infant & Toddler Care courses from Work & Family Consulting.  Once a student has completed either of these classes they have fulfilled the state requirements for SIDS & SBS entirely.

The Wisconsin Department of Children & Families (DCF) requires entry level training for all positions in any child care setting.  Each position has different course requirements. These requirements vary depending upon the position you are seeking or the setting in which you will work.
